Wikipedia states “A web search engine is designed to search for information on the World Wide Web and FTP servers.” The most used search engine is GOOGLE. I hope you have heard of it. If not, then either you live in CHINA or you are BING or YAHOO users. According to latest ranking on the market share of web search engine, showed Google is 90.9%. That’s huge. Now the question is why do we use web search engine, lets say Google ?

In Google we ask question, we search for information. Few intelligent, Few silly. It searches the piles of Web documents scatters around the world to find viable matches, and provide us with their answers. But is it smart enough to understand what we are asking. We even trust Google than Person who might know the actual answer. So why do we trust Google? or any other search engine for its matter. Is it helping us THINK better?

Though someone might argue that using Internet is not just about searching. I totally agree with that. But still they spent a lot of time online, surfing and sometimes adding to great database of Internet. You still do some searches, some quick clicks on hyperlinks; watch some videos and listening to some pod-casts, or just tripping from links to links to links. And, this has changed how we THINK.

The 2008 report Information Behavior of the Researcher of the Future, commissioned by the British Library and the Joint Information Systems Committee, found clear evidence of the negative effects of Internet use. As per their studies, people are exhibiting a strong tendency towards shallow, horizontal, flicking behavior in Digital Libraries. Society is dumbing down. They suggests that we may well be in the midst of sea change in the way we read and think. As a part of five-year research program, they found that people using the online journals, e-books, and other sources of online written information exhibited the habit of “ skimming “, hopping from one source to another and rarely returning to any source they’d already visited. They typically read no more than one or two pages of an article or book before they would “bounce” out to another site. Sometimes they’d save a long article, but there’s no evidence that they ever went back and actually read it. It is clear that people are not reading online in the traditional sense; indeed showing the signs of new form of reading “ power browse “.

People used to think that our mental meshwork, the dense connections of 100 billion or so neurons, is largely fixed by the time we reach adulthood. But brain researchers have discovered that that’s not the case. The study found out that our brain is almost infinitely malleable. Nerve cells routinely break old connection and make new ones. The brain has the ability to reprogram itself on the fly, altering the way it functions. The process of adapting to new intellectual technologies occurs at the biological level, provides far-reaching evidence that the Internet and its promises have effect on cognitive level, changing the pattern on how we observe the world and absorbs the information.

But still we cannot draw into the conclusion that Internet is making us stupid, there are more benefits of new digital age of information consumption. Everyone can agree on the impact of Internet on ability of them to “think big, deep thoughts, “ however it is in balance of “ connections and collisions “ between ideas - some inevitably led to new ones.

Web is as smart as the person who created them. May be Internet brings both the good and the bad, the two can’t necessarily be untangled from each other. Internet brings within it “ the means of freedom, to create throwaway materials, as well as freedom to indulge in the experimentation that eventually makes the good in society.”

Are these things making us dumber, or they simply challenging us to become smarter in new ways? I would say they are doing both. So what do you think “Is Internet making us smarter or dumber? Please don’t GOOGLE it.

References

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_search_engine

http://gs.statcounter.com/#search_engine-ww-monthly-201010-201012-bar

http://www.techradar.com/news/internet/is-the-internet-making-us-stupid--673843

http://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2008/07/is-google-making-us-stupid/6868/

<georss:box>14.0749895 100.604867 14.0826905 100.614738</georss:box>

Summer Movies 2011

So The Summer Are Here . Each year there are about 250 million cases of water-based diseases, resulting in roughly 5 to 10 million deaths.

Each year, U.S. factories spew 3 million tons of toxic chemicals into the air, land, and water.

Over 80 percent of items in landfills can be recycled. But they are not.

Recent Deepwater Horizon oil spill (also known as BP oil spill) in the Gulf of Mexico which flowed for three months, extensively damaged marine and wildlife habitats, adversely affect the Gulf's fishing and tourism industries. It has been marked as the largest accidental marine oil spill in the history of the petroleum industry.

These are some of the underlying facts on how we are directly-indirectly affecting the water sources. Water is prime of life. It is promoter of survival. You cannot live without water. Looking over the facts as been mentioned, we are writing our own last chapter.

Though these facts are horrific they are preventable. Prevention is better than cure. If you cannot make it good, try not to make it bad. That is the first step.

Water will be with us till we protect it. Water is what we are been created of. Survival of Human race relies on it. We share our planet with millions of species; each must have control over their own survival. We should not do that might affect in any way the existence of these wonderful species. Everyone has their own story to tell, we should let them to complete it.

Lets bind together for our survival.

Blog Action Day 2010: Water

Petitions by Change.org|Start a Petition »

Tiger (Panthera Tigris)

Tigers - the magnificent species is the largest of all the Asian big cats. Being at the top of the food chain, tiger is an indicator species of the healthy ecosystem in which they live and on which people depend. This charismatic species is getting closer to extinction:
- Since 1998, tigers have lost 40 percent of their habitat and today occupy only seven percent of their historic range.
- In just one century, the estimated tiger population in the wild has declined from 100,000 to as few as 3,200 globally.
- Poaching and illegal trade of tiger body parts is the largest immediate threat to the species worldwide.

There are only a little more than 121 wild adult tigers in Nepal.

Only immediate, determined and collaborative efforts can save the future of wild tigers. It is every citizen's responsibility to conserve the tigers in wild.

Each one of us can help conserve the future of Wild Tigers by:

Politicians:
- Enacting tiger conservation friendly policies.
- Not providing political protection to the poachers, illegal traders and encroachers.

Civil Servants:
- Effectively implementing and monitoring the policies.
- Effectively conserving the tiger and its habitat.

Civil Society:
- Understanding that poaching and trade of tiger parts is illegal.
- Reporting such illegal activities.

Youth:
- Being well informed about tiger conservation issues and actively supporting the cause.

SAVE THE WILD TIGER and save so much more!

www.wwfnepal.org

www.savetigersnow.org

Humanity

Solidarity for Humanity. If we look at the phrase we can see it composed esp. of two words Solidarity and Humanity. Now, breaking them, What is Solidarity? As per dictionary, we can say 'unity because of common aims, beliefs, interests or feelings'. So in simple terms, solidarity relate to unity. Why do we need unity? A single stick can easily be broken, even with single hand. But, we take a bunch of sticks and try to even using both hand, its very hard. Unity does is important. Since every thing as good and evil parts. We can all say, Unity is good. With unity, we can do so many thing, solve so many problem, resolve so many crisis. But, Unity if do happen for evil, we have so many problem, so many crisis. So Unity depends upon the interest of the group to which it belong. In context, we have so many community, forum, groups. Each group has its own identity, and within those we have their respective interest. Since there is only one world where we can live, ones interest would always have conflict with another. Conflict can be as small as tiny letters to as big as big areas. Nobody knows when such conflict can result to huge wars. Wars that happening from past centuries been always been because of conflict. Ones interest conflicted one-way or another by others interest. And, Humans are involved. Fact there is that Humans are only animals who would enjoy torture of their own species. Don't know how much that is true. But the fact there is the conflict always arouse by Human and human always on the back-foot. People get involved, and always they are both the cause and victim. We all live in community, we have our own groups, but within those community we have individuals with their own interest. They always unite. Sometime such conflicts don't reside with us, Humanity always on crisis. We always forget what make us human. People always think they are Human, and reason for being Human, and the responsibility it has given us. Always unity can resolve , if it can work in right way, on saving the true identity of we HUMAN, we can say we have done some good things, spreads good message of humanity.

Year 1986 - My Birth Year

From http://whathappenedinmybirthyear.com/

In 1986, the world was a different place.

There was no Google yet. Or Yahoo.

In 1986, the year of your birth, the top selling movie was Top Gun. People buying the popcorn in the cinema lobby had glazing eyes when looking at the poster.

Remember, that was before there were DVDs. People were indeed watching movies in the cinema, and not downloading them online. Imagine the packed seats, the laughter, the excitement, the novelty. And mostly all of that without 3D computer effects.

Do you know who won the Oscars that year? The academy award for the best movie went to Platoon. The Oscar for best foreign movie that year went to The Assault. The top actor was Paul Newman for his role as Fast Eddie Felson in The Color of Money. The top actress was Marlee Matlin for her role as Sarah Norman in Children of a Lesser God. The best director? Oliver Stone for Platoon.

In the year 1986, the time when you arrived on this planet, books were still popularly read on paper, not on digital devices. Trees were felled to get the word out. The number one US bestseller of the time was It by Stephen King. Oh, that's many years ago. Have you read that book? Have you heard of it? Look at the cover!

In 1986... Spain and Portugal enter the European Community, which later becomes the European Union. The Province of Flevoland is established in the Netherlands. The United Kingdom and France announce plans to construct the Channel Tunnel. The first PC virus, Brain, starts to spread. The first federal Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, honoring Martin Luther King, Jr., is observed. The Voyager 2 space probe makes its first encounter with Uranus. The Today national tabloid newspaper is launched in the United Kingdom, pioneering the use of computer photosetting and full-colour offset printing, at a time when British national newspapers still use Linotype machines and letterpress. A treaty ends the Three Hundred and Thirty Five Years' War between the Netherlands and the Isles of Scilly. American college basketball player Len Bias suffers a fatal cardiac arrhythmia from a cocaine overdose less than 48 hours after being selected 2nd overall by the Boston Celtics in the 1986 NBA Draft. Greg LeMond wins the Tour de France. The cargo ship Khian Sea departs from the docks of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, carrying 14,000 tons of toxic waste. It wanders the seas for the next 16 months trying to find a place to dump its cargo. Average per capita income in Japan exceeds that in the USA. Australian singer John Farnham releases the album Whispering Jack, which becomes the highest selling album in Australia's history. The video game of the day was Arkanoid.

That was the world you were born into. Since then, you and others have changed it.

The Nobel prize for Literature that year went to Wole Soyinka. The Nobel Peace prize went to Elie Wiesel. The Nobel prize for physics went to Ernst Ruska from West Germany for his fundamental work in electron optics, and for the design of the first electron microscope. The sensation this created was big. But it didn't stop the planets from spinning, on and on, year by year. Years in which you would grow bigger, older, smarter, and, if you were lucky, sometimes wiser. Years in which you also lost some things. Possessions got misplaced. Memories faded. Friends parted ways. The best friends, you tried to hold on. This is what counts in life, isn't it?

The 1980s were indeed a special decade. The Soviet-Afghan war goes on. Eastern Europe sees the collapse of communism. Policies like Perestroika and Glasnost in the Soviet Union lead to a wave of reforms. Protests are crushed down on Tiananmen Square in China. Ethiopa witnesses widespread famine. Nicolae Ceausescu is overthrown. The AIDS pandemic begins. The role of women in the workplace increased greatly. MTV is launched in the US. There is opposition against Apartheid in South Africa as well as worldwide. Heavy Metal and Hard Rock bands are extremely popular. The rise of Techno music begins. Originally primarily played on campus radio stations, College Rock enters the scene with bands like the Pixies, REM and Sonic Youth. The Hip Hop scene continues to evolve. Teletext is introduced. Gay rights become more widely accepted in the world. Opposition to nuclear power plants grows. The A-Team and Seinfeld are popular on TV. US basketball player Michael Jordan bursts on the scene. Super Mario Bros, Zelda's Link, and Pac-Man gain fame in video games. People wear leggings, shoulder pads and Ray-Ban sunglasses.

Do you know what was on the cover of Life that year?

Do you remember the movie that was all the rage when you were 15? Pearl Harbor. Do you still remember the songs playing on the radio when you were 15? Maybe it was Fallin' by Alicia Keys. Were you in love? Who were you in love with, do you remember?

In 1986, 15 years earlier, a long time ago, the year when you were born, the song Rock Me Amadeus by Falco topped the US charts. Do you know the lyrics? Do you know the tune? Sing along.

Amadeus Amadeus, Amadeus
Amadeus Amadeus, Amadeus
Amadeus Amadeus, oh oh oh Amadeus
Er war Superstar
Er war populär
Er war so exaltiert
Because er hatte Flair
Er war ein Virtuose
War ein Rockidol
Und alles rief:
Come on and rock me Amadeus
...

There's a kid outside, shouting, playing. It doesn't care about time. It doesn't know about time. It shouts and it plays and thinks time is forever. You were once that kid.

When you were 9, the movie The City of Lost Children was playing. When you were 8, there was The Next Karate Kid. When you were 7, there was a Disney movie out called The Lion King. The sun goes down. Someone switches channels. There's The Hogan Family on now. That's the world you were born in.

Progress, year after year. Do you wonder where the world is heading towards? The technology available today would have blown your mind in 1986.

No no no, 1986 there's Roos on my feet
I'm riding in the back seat
Staring at the back of my momma's head
I'm daydreaming my day away
...

That's from the song 1986 by Discover America.

In 1986, a new character entered the world of comic books: The Tick. Bang! Boom! But that's just fiction, right? In the real world, in 1986, Amanda Bynes was born. And Lindsay Lohan. Charlotte Church, too. And you, of course. Everyone an individual. Everyone special. Everyone taking a different path through life.
It's 2010.

The world is a different place.

What path have you taken?

Year 2009

For me, year 2009 been a great great accomplished year. I completed engineering, got job right away (well, I did internship there so no problem on that), and hmmmmm.....that all are what been the year so far.

Engineering completion . After more than 4 year of bachelor study, finally got my engineering degree. Its actually a 4 year program but as always, it never completes in 4 years. Bandh, bandh and whole new Nepal strikes took more time to settle down. And, still its ON. I don't know when will this nightmare stops and we all can have a great good sleep. Look like Turtle would won the race, we won't be able to see better prosperous Nepal. Hopefully, 2010 would be the year of new Constitution. Nobody really got interested on that, except some old people from mushroom parties. Well, it would be fun, we would be paying more taxes than ever, cost on every product would be high than ever, well, there would be so many government in a single country with each issuing their own taxation system, and in valley, what would be produce except People and consumer?

Also, got a job as Software Engineer. Though the title suggest of high-tech job suitable for any engineer, actually I am just a programmer. Only implementing few percentage of 4 year engineering degree. Few means few. In some situation you will be happy as you would be a creator, but most of the case, nothing new to offer. Actual engineering job ... hmmm ... for our degree we hold, in simple term, NO IDEA ... coz nobody knows...really. Well, everybody is doing engineering, so its been a cheap, but real and AWESOME engineer are hard to find and would be for a long long time. But, Life have a lot to offer still, and a lot of gain and study. Next target, Master Degree and if so n' so, PH.D. I suppose :-) But, it won't be easy. So much distraction and so many path to focus. Hopefully I would choose a right one. Hopefully.

Now, what to say. Other than job and work..2010 would be year to continue my other interest ..MOVIE. There would be a lot a lot of new releases waiting for 2010 and it would be AWESOME year. A decade passed since the millennium, and we are still counting......

Climate Change and Rise in Sea Level

www.blogactionday.org

The term 'Climate Change' refers to change in global temperature. Though some thought propels them as natural phenomenon, Human-induced Climate change is more on effect than that in past decades.

Consequences of Climate change and rise in sea level

- Melting of Glaciers and Ice Sheets
One of the most pronounced effects of climate change has been melting of masses of ice around the world. Glaciers and ice sheets are large, slow-moving assemblages of ice that cover about 10% of the world’s land area and exist on every continent except Australia. They are the world’s largest reservoir of fresh water, holding approximately 75%.

Over the past century, most of the world’s mountain glaciers and the ice sheets in both Greenland and Antarctica have lost mass. Retreat of this ice occurs when the mass balance (the difference between accumulation of ice in the winter versus ablation or melting in the summer) is negative such that more ice melts each year than is replaced.By affecting the temperature and precipitation of a particular area, both of which are key factors in the ability of a glacier to replenish its volume of ice, climate change affects the mass balance of glaciers and ice sheets. When the temperature exceeds a particular level or warm temperatures last for a long enough period, and/or there is insufficient precipitation, glaciers and ice sheets will lose mass.

- Sea Level Rise

Most of the world’s coastal cities were established during the last few millennium, a period when global sea level has been near constant. Since the mid-19th century, sea level has been rising, likely primarily as a result of human-induced climate change. During the 20th century, sea level rose about 15-20 centimeters (roughly 1.5 to 2.0 mm/year), with the rate at the end of the century greater than over the early part of the century. Satellite measurements taken over the past decade, however, indicate that the rate of increase has jumped to about 3.1 mm/year. Projections suggest that the rate of sea level rise is likely to increase during the 21st century, although there is considerable controversy about the likely size of the increase.

- Ocean Acidification

Each year the oceans absorb the equivalent of about a third of human emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2), transferring most of it to the deep ocean. Over the past 200 years, the increasing CO2 emissions from fossil fuel combustion have led to an exponential increase in the net amount of CO2 being dissolved in the ocean. Dissolved CO2 creates carbonic acid, which reduces the ocean pH level, making it more acidic.

Historically, ocean pH has averaged around 8.17, meaning that ocean waters are slightly basic. But with the rising CO2 concentration causing acidification, today the pH levels are around 8.09, edging the waters closer to neutral.Evidence indicate that, over the past 300 million years, the average pH of the ocean has not varied by more than 0.6 from its present value. Thus, the marine ecosystems present today have evolved in a relatively stable pH environment. With the rising CO2 concentration over the last 200 years, ocean pH has been steadily decreasing. Though such acidification have yet not worrisome regions except the polar, the rate its been decreasing is troublesome and affecting natural weathering process. If the CO2 concentration continues to rise and the pH level continues to fall at current rates, the ocean pH could drop by as much as 0.5 during the 22nd century. Such a drastic change would very likely have a substantial adverse impact on ocean life.

- Thermohaline Circulation

Another impact of glacial retreat is the possible effect fresh melt water will have on the thermohaline circulation. Because both temperature and salinity are influenced by changes in the climate, there are concerns about the ways in which the thermohaline circulation might be affected. Not only it would change the ocean temperature and circulations pattern, it effects the global weather pattern, raise in sea level, fresh water circulation, which would adversely affect every ecosystems in planet.

Reference : http://www.climate.org/topics/sea-level/index.html

Facts About Global Warming

www.blogactionday.org
Yes, Earth already showing sign on change in climate. Some known, proved facts I came across at news.nationalgeographic.com:

• Average temperatures have climbed 1.4 degrees Fahrenheit (0.8 degree Celsius) around the world since 1880, much of this in recent decades, according to NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies.

• The rate of warming is increasing. The 20th century's last two decades were the hottest in 400 years and possibly the warmest for several millennia, according to a number of climate studies. And the United Nations' Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) reports that 11 of the past 12 years are among the dozen warmest since 1850.

• The Arctic is feeling the effects the most. Average temperatures in Alaska, western Canada, and eastern Russia have risen at twice the global average, according to the multinational Arctic Climate Impact Assessment report compiled between 2000 and 2004.

  • Arctic ice is rapidly disappearing, and the region may have its first completely ice-free summer by 2040 or earlier. Polar bears and indigenous cultures are already suffering from the sea-ice loss.

  • Glaciers and mountain snows are rapidly melting—for example, Montana's Glacier National Park now has only 27 glaciers, versus 150 in 1910. In the Northern Hemisphere, thaws also come a week earlier in spring and freezes begin a week later.

  • Coral reefs, which are highly sensitive to small changes in water temperature, suffered the worst bleaching—or die-off in response to stress—ever recorded in 1998, with some areas seeing bleach rates of 70 percent. Experts expect these sorts of events to increase in frequency and intensity in the next 50 years as sea temperatures rise.

  • An upsurge in the amount of extreme weather events, such as wildfires, heat waves, and strong tropical storms, is also attributed in part to climate change by some experts.

Blog Action Day '09 Climate Change

Connect Oracle using PHP

Trying to connect ORACLE using PHP. Apache 2.2.x or Apache 2.0.x

- Double click the downloaded file apache_2.0.x-win32-x.msi (You can also get *.open_ssl.msi)

- Follow the Apache HTTP Server installation wizards. You should select to install Apache HTTP Server for All Users, on Port 80, because the only for the Current User alternative will clash with Oracle
atabase Express Edition’s default port 8080.

- Test http://localhost/ or http://127.0.0.1/ to display the Apache home page.

3. Download the PHP installer package from http://www.php.net/downloads.php (find latest version and get complete or final version)

- Double click on the downloaded file php-x.x-win32-installer.msi. The PHP Windows installer starts

- Select the installation location of the PHP files and click Next.

- In the Web Server Setup screen, select the web server you want to use. This installation uses the
Apache 2.0 module option. Select Apache 2.0.x or Apache 2.2.x Module and click Next.

- In the Apache Configuration Directory screen, select the location of the Apache conf directory and click Next.

For Apache 2.0, the standard configuration directory is C:\Program Files\ApacheGroup\Apache2\conf\

- In the Choose Items to Install screen, scroll down to the Extensions branch and add the Oracle 8
extension to the installation. Click Next.

- Click Install. The installer installs PHP.

- A final confirmation message is displayed to confirm that the PHP installation has completed. Click Finish.

- Restart Apache with Start > Programs > Apache HTTP Server 2.x.x > Control Apache Server > Restart.

Resolve any error messages on console.

4. Installing OCI8 with Instant Client on Windows

- Download the Instant Client Basic package for Windows from the Instant Client page on the Oracle Technology Network:
http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/oci/instantclient/instantclient.html

- The Windows 32 bit ZIP file is called instantclient-basic-win32-11.x.zip and is around 42 MB in size.

- Create a new directory (for example, C:\instantclient_11_1).

- Unzip the downloaded file into the new directory.

- Edit the Windows environment and add the location of the Oracle Instant Client files, C:\instantclient_11_1,

to the PATH environment variable, before any other Oracle directories.

For example, on Windows XP, use Start > Settings > Control Panel > System > Advanced > Environment Variables,
and edit PATH in the System Variables list.

- If you are using a tnsnames.ora file to define Oracle Net connect names (database aliases), copy the
tnsnames.ora file to C:\instantclient_11_1, and set the user environment variable TNS_ADMIN to
C:\instantclient_11_1.

- Set any other required Oracle globalization language environment variables, such as NLS_LANG.

If nothing is set, the default local environment is used. See the Globalization chapter,
for more information on globalization with PHP and Oracle.

Unset any Oracle environment variables that are not required, such as ORACLE_HOME and ORACLE_SID.

- Restart the Apache HTTP Server.

5. Done. Hopefully everything went right.

For detail information check http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/php/pdf/underground-php-oracle-manual.pdf

Apache Server : http://www.ip97.com/apache.org/httpd/binaries/win32/apache_2.2.13-win32-x86-openssl-0.9.8k.msi

PHP Installer : http://in.php.net/distributions/php-5.2.10-win32-installer.msi

Instant Client : http://download.oracle.com/otn/nt/instantclient/111070/instantclient-basic-win32-11.1.0.7.0.zip

I have used adodb (http://adodb.sourceforge.net) for connection using oci8 as driver.

Example : A Connection String :

include('adodb/adodb.inc.php');

$conn = NewADOConnection('oci8');

$conn->connectSID = true; #if using SID

$conn->Connect($server, $user, $password, $database); # $database = $SID

$rs = $conn->Execute('select * from some_small_table');

print "
";

print_r($rs->GetRows());

print "";

?>

Awaiting Movie Seasons - Summer Movies

I have taken this from rottentomatoes.com. Read more from here http://www.rottentomatoes.com/guides/summer_movies

The summer movie season is generally a time when the studios pull out their big guns, and 2009 is no exception. In this year's Summer Movie Preview, we've got superheroes (X-Men Origins: Wolverine) and a couple reboots of classic sci-fi franchises (Star Trek and Terminator Salvation). We've got wizards (Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince) and real American heroes (GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra). We've got brand new films from Pixar (Up), Judd Apatow (Funny People), and Quentin Tarantino (Inglourious Basterds). For those who prefer romance to explosions, there's something for you, too (Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, The Ugly Truth). And what would the summer be without sequels (Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Angels & Demons)? They're all here in RT's Summer Movie Preview, your guide to what's hot in theaters this season!

<ul The sister purchased a pair of panties for herself at the same time.

During the wrapping the shop assistant mixed up the two items and the sister got the gloves and Ciara got the panties.

Without checking the contents Daragh sealed the package (with akiss) and sent it to his sweetheart with the following note:

Dear Ciara,

I chose these because I noticed that you are not in the habit of wearing any when we go out in the evening.

If it had not been for my sister I would have chosen the long ones with the buttons, but she wears short ones that are easier to remove.

These are a delicate shade, but the lady I bought them from showed me the pair that she had been wearing for the past three weeks and they were hardly soiled at all.

I had her try yours on for me and she looked really smart even though they were a little tight on her.

She also told me that her pair helps to keep her ring clean and shiny, in fact she had not needed to wash it since she had begun wearing them.

I wish I were there to put them on you for the first time, as no doubt many other hands will touch them before I have a chance to see you again.

When you take them off remember to blow into them before putting them away as they will naturally be a little damp from wearing.

Just think how many times my lips will kiss them during the coming year.

I hope that you will wear them for me on Friday night."

All my love,

Fergus

P.S. First of all questions were all JPT and the answer well i don't remember what I have written..no need to know also..it all seem so out of proportion and the context on which I have written is my state of my mind. A single question is of 16 marks each. As you go through the question, you feel that the answer need to like 4 pages each...more like an assignment type question than anything else. You need at least 3 hours per question to write it rather than 20 minutes or so. First paper is very tough one... DSAP. People say its Difficult Subject to Pass, well the teacher (Rajiv sir) made it look a bit easy and he said only the topic he taught on class and that we wrote on the copy will come(I hope it would). Nevertheless its a hard one.

Exam are not easy... specially the one in which you need to prove yourself within 3 hours time. Sometime I think its hard to evaluate the person with the 3 hours exam and marking according to it. Somebody won't disagree on this.

After all in all, free time...although the final project need to be finished in time which is 2 weeks as per the routine. With no-lights i think it won't be 2 weeks but say, 2 months... well 1 month would be fine. Before that there must be midterm, there should be. Otherwise how they can evaluate the 100+ marks from internal examination. By guessing, or by giving full marks to all.
